Tavistock AFC Reserves 0

Bude Town 4

AFTER recording a fine result in mid week when they beat high flying Liskeard by a single goal at Lux Park, Tavistock Reserves suffered a defeat which puts paid to the their chances of winning the East Cornwall League title.

The Lambs had plenty of possession throughout the game but could not break down a resolute Bude defence.

The home team also paid the penalty for some poor defensive errors and conceded two penalties both of which where converted by the visitors. The other goals came as a result of poor marking in the home defence, giving the visitors, what can only be said, a flattering final score line.

Bude took the lead in the 28th minute when Hopworth was felled in the penalty area, Dave Youlden converting the penalty kick. Hopworth caused the Lambs' defence problems throughout and he scored three more goals for the visitors, including another penalty kick after he was fouled in the penalty area.

The Lambs had several attempts on goal but bur the majority of their efforts failed to test the keeper. This was a disappointing result but the team must now target the runners up spot.
