TAMAR Trail Warriors were among those who took part in the Hartland Hartbreaker at the weekend.
The run is a tough 18-mile off road, multi terrain running race. It is not for the faint-hearted. Runners encountered sections of exposed cliff tops, muddy tracks, uneven paths, long sections off path with no discernible route, river crossings, steep, slippery difficult sections (some with ropes) and generally a real tough, long and challenging run.
There were some sections of road, but the Warriors deliberately avoided them wherever possible. There were exposed sections of cliff top with no fences or barriers and the route went close to extremely high drops.
Six warriors took on the very hot Hartbreaker – Mel Green and Caire Woods came in first of the Warriors with Stuart Queen not far behind (he managed to get his tractor around in one piece), then Jason Shipton, Paul Evenden and Andy Powell finishing off the warriors.
