ON Sunday two members of the Wheelie Darksiderz took part in the Liskeard Triathlon. This was the third race in the Cornwall triathlon series and consisted of a 400m pool swim, a 19km cycle then a 5km run to finish.

The weekend of June 13/14 saw the eleventh staging of the event, one of the largest Tri events in the UK.

Bere Alston Trekkers Nathan Newton finished eighth overall in a total time of 1 hour 03 minutes 12 seconds and Andrew Bowden finished 27th out of 262, in a time of 1.25.19.

The swim takes part in the lake while the bike ride and run are held in the beautiful grounds of the estate.

Andrew said: 'I would like to thank my training partner and coach Nathan Newton for bring a great role model. He inspires me to be the best I can be.'
