YOUNG athletics from Mount House School continued to show excellent form at the annual Blundell's School athletics tournament in Tiverton, competing against pupils from from St Peter's Lympstone, Maynard, Exeter and Stover schools. Mount House finished second in the senior boys and girls' competition, and third in the intermediate and junior boys and girls' section, giving the Mount House team second place overall. Individual gold medals were won by Georgia Burton in the minor girls' long jump, and in the junior competitions by Lizzie Elderfield (75m), Crispin Newman (boys' high jump) and James Lamb (boys' 800m). Tess Campbell-Bareham won gold in the intermediate girls' 800m. Winners in the senior girls: Romilly Carrick (800m), Zara Smith (discus) and Becky Manton (javelin). Joe Beck won gold in the senior boys' 100m and Hunter Strand the senior boys' 300m in a new Blundell's tournament record time.
