YELVERTON Golf Club held its Spring Mixed Open competition. The format was greensomes Stableford and top scores were good despite the testing conditions caused by blustery winds and heavy rain showers. The winners were Sue and George Rumbold from Yelverton who also had 38 points but won on countback. The runners up with 38 points were mother and son pair from Yelverton, Annie Hosken and Simon Macartney. Earlier Yelverton ladies won convincingly in their first Sheelah Creasy match of the season, when, playing at home, they beat Great Torrington Golf Club 6-1.
