MID Devon Pony Club's tetrathletes had a great time braving the wind and the rain at neighbouring South Devon Moorland's annual competition.

Thomas Bayley won the junior boys class with the best shoot in his age group and a superb 1,200 point run.

The riding phase was held at Holwell Lawn, close to Hound Tor, and the weather was miserable but Tom rode a lovely clear round, with just a few time faults. Tom is a member of the South West Junior boys team.

In the assisted mini class, the Mid Devon team of Rob Bilton, Amelia and Evelyn Moody finished third, just six points behind the second team. Amelia equalled her personal best shoot and had the best run, finishing second individually; while Rob had a PB shoot and finished in third place. Evelyn finished the run in a personal best time.

In the novice juniors, Simon Moody and Laurie Bilton both shot a score of 880, which won them best shoot and Simon went on to have the fastest run in the class. The third member of the team, Kate Bilton also posted a PB in the run.
