MID Devon Hunt Pony Club members had a great two days at neighbouring club South Devon Moorland's annual Tetrathlon competition. In the biathlon competition Mid Devon's team of Becky and Jessie Smith and Immie May did superbly to win the class. Becky and Immie finished second equal with Becky winning the best swim rosette. Harry Robinson was competing for the first time, and showed lots of potential, with the fifth fastest run in a class of 17 children. He then went on to ride a clear round over the cross country course. Rob Bilton equalled his shoot personal best with a fine score of 840 and added another couple of metres to his swim PB. He was in second place in his class on Saturday night and a successful trip round the cross country course saw him hold on to that second place. Tom Bayley won the junior boys. He put in a superb run and followed that with a lovely clear round, inside his time on Sunday. Recently, Tom has finished eleventh in a class of 38 at the Pony Club's National Triathlon Finals and he and Henry Ware of the Spooners PC are due to represent the South West at Windsor Horse Show, where the Pony Club holds a demonstration tetrathlon between teams of three junior competitors from each of the GB regions.
