A SUNNY Spring morning saw the annual gathering of the ladies of Yelverton Golf Club to wish their ladies' captain, Teresa Holt, success for a second year.
Teresa followed tradition by tee-ing off wearing a funny hat from the first tee in front of lady members. Before she the tee-off she toasted the ladies with a warming drink of brandy and lovage, with drinks served to the ladies by Teresa's husband Peter.
The ladies then went out to play a three ball better Ball over 13 holes won by Jean James, Christine Longden and Sheila Brookbank on 54 points. Runners-up , also with 54 points were, Glenda Thompson, Verna Isaac and Sue Rumbold.
In the medal and Astor trophy the winner of division one was Helen Harris with a nett 75, runner up Sue Pearman, 82; division two was won by Teresa Holt, nett 80, runner-up Kay Creaven, 80
