THE ASA South West Regional Youth Championships took place at Millfield School, Street over the May Bank holiday weekend.

This event is for swimmers 15 years and older. Kelly College sent 13 swimmers to this event, all performing well:

Gold medallists:Milly Furneaux – 50m and 100m breaststroke, Steph Reynolds – 200m backstroke.

Silver medallists: Steph Reynolds (3), Nikita Ivanov, Polly White and Tom McLagan

Bronze medallists:Matthew Courtis (2) and Laker Wong.

Milly Furneaux won her two events, the 50m and 100m breaststroke with new Kelly College Open records. Milly also broke the 200m breaststroke Kelly record.

Steph Reynolds gained a British Championship qualifying time with her gold medal swim in the 200m backstroke and Ollie Willis recorded a national qualifying time with his swim in the 200m backstroke.

The younger swimmers, 14 years and under will be competing in their ASA SWR Championships also at Millfield over the weekends June 1 and 2 and June 8 and 9.
