THIRTEEN members of Tavistock Athletic Club were among the 3,800 runners who completed the 13.1 mile course of the Plymouth Half Marathon in near perfect running conditions during the Jubilee weekend.

First club runner home was new member Matthew Teague who ran strongly to finish in 1 hour, 33 minutes, 40 seconds. Pete Bazley was next to finish, coming third in his M55 category, with Paul Marshall only minutes behind, finishing sixth in the same category.

Wally Lake finished second in the M60 and Trevor Williams finished fourth in the M65 - all four earning gold standards for their age and time. Eunice Moule, first TAC lady home, ran an exceptional race to finish in 1.49.47 gaining a personal best and a silver award. Graham De Val also gained silver and reaped the benefit of his hard training with the club, with a time of 1.46.44.

Amy Kiteley, Rob Moule, Samantha Marshall and Caron De Val all gained bronze awards. Caron ran a pb as did Paul Bumford.

n TAVISTOCK athlete Amy Kiteley is half way through completing 20 races in one year for Cancer Research!

Having completed the Bideford 10k last month and the Plymouth half marathon on Sunday in personal bests.

Amy said: I'm not just raising money and awareness i'm getting better and fitter! The Plymouth half marathon was my 10th race so half way there to the 20!'
