Lympstone Seconds 0

South Zeal 13

ON a good pitch, the match started in a bright and up tempo manner, with Lympstone clearly confident on their home turf. Yet, as has been the case so far this season, Zeal scored first with the ever improving and pacey Adam Clark latching on to a long kick from keeper Eddy Jones to slot home in a calm and collected moment.

This goal helped to settle the Zeal side, with Lee Gilbert and man of teh match Stuart Cann dominating the game from the back. Harley Cann scored the second from six yards.

Zeal now had the lion's share of the possession with Samuel Jones and Harry Smith tenacious and determined on the flanks, complemented by the imperious Redd Cann in the centre of the park. This was only going to end in one way and this came compliments of Darren Gilbert who slotted home superbly to make it 3-0 inside 20 minutes.

Adam Clark added his second with another great turn of pace to outfox the floundering centre half of Lympstone.

The glacier was now melting for Lympstone and Samuel Jones soon got in on the act, streaking in from the left wing to tap home the fifth for Zeal. Harley Cann was now managing the game with military precision and soon added his second and Zeal's sixth on the half hour.

Within five minutes Samuel Jones completed a stylish brace, making the score 7-0 in favour of Zeal at the break. Manager Gary Smith wanted more in the second half and within a minute captain Harley Cann, obliged by slamming home for his hat-trick. Matty Dennis now joined the fray from the bench and immediately added some further guile to the centre of the park, with his brother Ryan now making hay down the left wing also. Darren Gilbert soon latched on to a cracking through ball to score his second of the match.

Substitute Ryan Dennis soon showed his class by finishing in accomplished style to make the score 10-0. Harley Cann and Darren Gilbert both scored again with Adam Clark putting the cherry on the cake from the penalty spot with ten minutes left.

The result takes South Zeal to the top of the league with a goal difference on plus 44 after six games.
