The event will provide the opportunity for young disabled people from schools throughout Devon to participate in ten different sports including football, table cricket and tennis with taster sessions in archery, boccia and tri golf.
The event is part of the Sainsbury's School Games and this year the number of competitors is set to top 500. Sixty young people from local schools and colleges will also be crucial in supporting the event on the day as Games Maker style volunteers.
Active Devon chief executive Matt Evans said: 'At Active Devon our aim is for everyone in Devon to be active for life. Often it is more difficult for disabled people to get into sport so we are absolutely thrilled that so many young disabled people will be participating in the Winter Ability Games. And with young volunteers also helping at the event, it promises to be a real showcase for the breadth of opportunity afforded by involvement in grassroots sport. We are really looking forward to a fantastic occasion.'
