SOUTH Zeal started their new season in division two of the Devon and Exeter league with a competent display away to Colyton on Saturday.

The visitors were wearing their new kit provided by new sponsors the Taw River Inn, Sticklepath.

With a strong wind at their backs the visitors dominated the first half but apart from a Redd Cann free kick that hit the bar could not create a clear cut chance and the teams turned round 0-0 to start the second half.

With South Zeal's defence more than a match for Colyton's forwards the vistors eventually took the lead when a great through-ball by Tom Reilly put Harley Cann through down the right and he beat two defenders and rounded the Colyton keeper for a simple finish.

Hard as they tried Colyton could not produce a chance and with 15 minutes left after both Scott Hooper and Harley Cann had both gone close, Daniel Gibbs put Harley Cann through down the left and his pass acroos the face of the Colyton goal found Jamie Mallet unmarked at the far post and he finished well to give South Zeal all three points.
