Devon and Exeter three
Topsham Town 2
South Zeal Utd 3
SOUTH Zeal produced a great second half performance to snatch all three points at Topsham on Saturday.
The home side took the lead after 10 minutes when the visitors failed to clear a corner allowing one of Topsham's midfielders to score from close range.
South Zeal always looked as if they could score but two good saves by the Topsham keeper denied Redd Cann and both Harley Cann. Darren Gilbert went close before a long ball evaded the visiting defence allowing a Topsham striker to run through and score from close range and put them two up.
At half-time South Zeal had it all to do and with Stuart Entwistle moving into midfield. It was one way traffic as they battered the Topsham defence with wave after wave of attacking football.
However, it took them 20 minutes to get on the score sheet when Darren Gilberts cross was volleyed home by Harley Cann.
The equaliser came when Daniel Gibbs put Harley Cann through on goal, he was fouled and Scott Hooper stepped up to smash home the penalty.
South Zeal's winner came 10 minutes from time when Darren Gilbert broke down the left, cut inside and hit a great shot into the far corner of the net to give the away side all three points.
