THE Pony Club area 16 dressage qualifiers, organised by Lamerton Hunt Pony Club at the Royal Cornwall Show Ground, attracted almost 200 competitors and standards were high. In the intermediate class the young team from Lamerton of Charlotte Barron, Jess Harrison, Holly Kerslake and Amy Searle won the intermediate team competition, with Emma Manton of Spooners and West Dartmoor winning her individual section. The highly competitive junior class, sponsored by Okehampton based local business MyVetMeds, was won by the Spooners team of Daisy Bensa, Jade Coupland, Becky McArther and Ria Murdoch, with rosettes presented by David Harris, a long standing Pony Club supporter and volunteer. The walk and trot Class, introduced this year to encourage younger and more inexperienced riders to take part in dressage, was won by Emily Wooldridge of Spooners and Casey Plaskett of Tetcott. While the open Class was deservedly won by the South Pool team, local rider Jess James from the Tetcott also qualified for the national championships as an individual.
