Duchy Premier
Biscovey 2
Lamerton 0
LAMERTON find themselves in a relegation battle at the bottom of Duchy Premier after defeat to Biscovey, who themselves are battling against the drop.
The hosts took an early lead after the Lamerton back four were caught napping. Biscovey forward Alex Woodcock slotted the ball past Lamerton keeper Pete Daniel from ten yards. Lamerton squandered chances in front of goal in the first 25 minutes, two from James Steer and another by Blair Vanstone. It proved costly for Lamerton when on the half hour mark Biscovey doubled their lead when Alex Woodcock headed his second from a right wing cross.
The second half was all one way traffic, with Lamerton desperately searching for a goal. But no matter how hard they tried the visitors struggled to breakdown a stubborn Biscovey defence.
Lamerton's problems were made worse in the 80th minute when centre half Simon Breyley was shown a red card for violent conduct.
The visitors were awarded a penalty after James Steer was brought down by the Biscovey goalkeeper. However, Mike King's effort from the spot was well saved by the Biscovey keeper and topped off an extremely disappointing afternoon for Lamerton..
