Cullompton Rangers 1

Tavistock AFC 4

THE Lambs started this game full of confidence and should have taken the lead as early as the second minute when Joe Carey beat the full back and crossed into the penalty area but Jarryd Kelly put his shot just wide.

Carey was in tremendous form and every time he got the ball he caused the home defence problems with his pace and close control.

Rooke then had a shot from four yards saved by Dan Stapleton the Rangers keeper.

It was no surprise when the Lambs took the lead in the 22nd minute when Dan Hart met Jarryd Kelly's, pull back, and placed his shot low into the far corner of the net.

The home team had a ten minute spell when they got back in the game. Their efforts were rewarded when the unfortunate Matt David turned a wicked cross from the right into his own net.

The Lambs then regained their superiority but failed to increase their lead before half time.

The visitor's dominance continued in the second half and wingers Johnny Wyatt and Joe Carey tormented the home defence all afternoon.

The visitors scored their third in the 66th minute, when Wyatt played in Jarryd Kelly who rounded the keeper before side footing the ball home from six yards.

The scoring was completed in the 80th minute after a sweeping move the ball found Joe Carey, and his perfect cross from the right was met by Ian Rooke and his bullet header flew into the home goal.

This was a terrific team performance by the Lambs, and the two away wins during the past week has taken them to the top of the league table.

Camelford 1

Tavistock AFC 2

The Lambs put a fine performance at Trefew Park last Wednesday come away with all three points.

The game started at a high tempo, with both sides probing to take the initiative, and Lambs' keeper Meeds pulled off a good save to deny the Camels taking the lead in the 12th minute.

The game continued to flow from end to end with both keepers being tested.

The Camels took the lead in the 18th minute when left back Ryan Pooley unleashed a thunderous shot from fully 30 yards, which flew over Andy Meeds into the top corner of the goal.

The Lambs responded well and drew level within two minutes, when a cross from Chris Menhenick found Ben Davies in the penalty area and he fired home from 14 yards, giving Josh Colwill no chance.

The game continued to flow with both side producing some fine passing moves.

The home nearly regained the lead when a shot from David Andrew clipped the cross bar. In the 36th minute Dan Pethick hit a shot from 30 yards that was superbly pushed away for a corner kick by Colwill.

With the scores level at the interval the Lambs came out with more purpose in the second half and started to dictate the play, really testing the home defence's resilience.

In the 49th minute it looked as if Josh Robins had given the Lambs the lead but his header from a Dave Hallett cross hit the side netting. Shortly afterwards Johnny Wyatt had a shot well saved by Colwill.

At this stage the Lambs were in complete control, with the home team only managing an occasional counter attack. Jarryd Kelly, Joe Carey and Ben Davies were denied by some fine saves from Josh Colwill in the home goal.

The visitors continued to press and in the 78th minute following another fluent passing move Johnny Wyatt produced a perfect pass to put Jarryd Kelly in on goal, he coolly slotted the ball pass Colwill to give the Lambs a thoroughly deserved lead.

This was another good all round team performance and some of the football produced in the second half performance was a delight to watch.
