TAVISTOCK ladies are putting their support behind the forthcoming Son-Rise Cup and their goal is to get as many female footie teams to join the popular community tournament.

The tournament is being held on May 24, 25 and 26 with the ladies kicking off on Saturday May 25 at 10am on Langsford Park in Crowndale.

Tania Coker, the manager of Tavistock Community Football Club ladies' team, told the Times: 'It would be really great to have lots of teams involved to help raise money and awareness for a great cause as well as enjoying a day of football.

'More than 30 men's teams will be entering, It would be great to make the ladies tournament as much of a success.'
