Okehampton ladies' firsts 3

OKEHAMPTON travelled to Exeter and after an unfortunate loss last week were ready and raring to go for a win.

Okehampton came out looking strong and good passing between captain Kim Davey and Amanda Sim led Okehampton to attack. Unfortunately, they were caught on the break which led to a swift goal by Exe. This fired up Okehampton and quick play soon led to a short corner for the away team.

Jo Moppett had a clean strike which was stopped on the line but Lottie Rademaker managed to slot it in behind the keeper on the rebound. Exe quickly came back with a second goal. Accurate passing between Davey, Moppet and Molly Petherbridge led to a slot in from the post for Petherbridge.

More good passing this time between Nicola Stoneman and Hannah Whiteley led to Moppett running through the players and smashing the ball to a waiting Petherbridge on the post for Okehampton to score their third.

After half time, Jane Jones, Carol Taylor, Rachel Hammett and player of the match Katie Adams worked hard in defence after having to reform after Adams received a yellow card and were unfortunate when a ball slipped past goalie Shannon Osman to go in on the post for Exe making the score 3-3.

Louise Weller continued to battle hard and Okehampton were rewarded with a short corner in the dying minutes which they were unlucky not to convert.
