THE City of Plymouth Galas was held this weekend at the Life Centre, Plymouth and Kelly College had 44 swimmers competing.

 The Kelly team had 27 meet records, four championship wins, 59 golds, 49 silvers, 20 bronze and 30 championship final swims 30.

Championship winners for Kelly were Sophie Hastings in the 100m freestyle, Nikita Ivanov in the 100m butterfly, Donovan McAntagart in the 100m breaststroke and Leah Picillo in the individual medley.

 Kelly swimmers who broke Meet records were: Rebecca Carpenter (5) Ben Staig (4) Sophie Hastings (2) Leah Picillo (2) Natasha-Lin Low (2) Beth Watmore (2) Will Luckham-Down (2) Georgia Martin (2) Donovan McAntagart (2) Nikita Ivanov (1) Nathan Linden (1), Millie Murdoch and Jessica Carpenter (1).

Director of swimming at Kelly College, Robin Brew said: 'We hope next year to have swimmers involved in the Commonwealth Games, European Junior championships and the summer Youth Olympics in China.  We are delighted too that our Performance Coach, Emma Collings, will be representing England at the World School Championships in Brazil this November'.
