Tavistock College student Emily Morley won five gold and one silver medals in a karate competition.
Emily, who is in year eight, and has been doing karate for more than six years at the Crownhill Karate Jitsu Club in Plymouth, competed in the 13-19 year old category, against opponents a year older than her. This result brings her total medal count up to seven gold and three silver.
Emily currently holds a brown belt/black tip which is the equivalent of a junior black belt. The next level for her will be another black tip and if she achieves this it will be the equivalent of an adult black belt.
Vanessa Allen, a spokesperson for Tavistock College, said: 'We at the College are all very proud of Emily and the hard work and dedication she has shown.'
