MORE than 30 students from the Tavistock, Launceston, Plymouth jujitsu clubs took part in an associaton grading with students going all out and demonstrated good progress through the Goju Ryu syllabus with many improved grades.

For first time 'graders' Billy Wilkinson, Daniel Pett, Finn Heneghan, Heidi Buncle, Leo Brown, Leyton Boreland, Oliver Pett, Sam Reddell-Denton, Ted Wilkinson, Thomas Doyle, Tom Ross and Tom Scott performed extremely well, to achieve their eighth kyu which is represented by a yellow belt.

Annie Handscomb, Matthew Jones, Paul Sieradzki, Simon Gregory and Steven Isaac were promoted to seventh kyu orange belt while Alex Hiscocks, Barry Sanders, Jacob Mabey and Tony Harding earned their fourth Kyu green belt one tab.

Chantal Challis, Charles Challis, Charles Turner, Christopher Turner, Hugo Challis, Luke Handscomb and Stewart Mead were promoted to fourth kyu, blue belt. Connor Baker, Jack Kerswill, Joseph Mulroy, Kevin Semple and Matthew Semple were promoted to third Kyu brown belt one tab.

The grading panel was extremely pleased by the performance and character demonstrated by everyone, beginners as well as more experienced students. Well done to everyone.

All the clubs are running beginners courses. Anyone is welcome to come and try jujitsu be it for fitness, confidence building or wanting to learn self-defence. The first month is free.
