SEVERAL students from the Launceston, Plymouth and Tavistock Clubs performed at a jujitsu demonstration in front of hundreds of people at the Tamerton Foliot Carnival.

Umberto Bergonzini, the club instructor, said: 'We started preparing and rehearsing the demonstration, hoping to create something entertaining for the public as well as portraying what jujitsu is all about. I am proud to say it was fantastic.

'Everyone did extremely well especially the youngsters as they only had two sessions to prepare their display.'

Currently all clubs are running beginners' courses. Anyone is welcome to come and try jujitsu be it for fitness, confidence building or wanting to learn self-defence. The first month is free.
