THE?sun shone at the Spooners and West Dartmoor Foxhounds' Point-to-Point Steeplechases at Cherry Brook on Easter Saturday.

Hundreds of people turned out to enjoy the races, food and activties in glorious sunshine, albeit still slightly muddy.

During the event, the Spooners explained to the audience the history of the hunt and of the hounds and allowed the youngsters to meet the dogs and talk to the Hunt Master — there was even a bouncy castle for youngsters to enjoy.

RESULTS of the six races:

Hunt (Condy Mathias Chartered accountants): 1 Dicky Bob (Jo Buck); 2 Miss Tinks (Vicky Wade); 3 Right Enough (Tom Chanin). Owner and trainer Verity Nicholls.

Verity from Walkhampton is delighted with Dicky Bob's win, which makes it his fifth consecutive win at Cherry Brook — making him the current leading national novice horse this season.

Restricted (Tyre Marks of Tavistock): 1 It's All Or Nothing (David Noonan); 2 Le Clo De La Londe (Jamie Thomas); 3 Indian Dancer (Darren Edwards). Owner Rob White, trainer Charlotte Rowe.
