Plymouth Netball division three
Horrabridge 12
Plymstock 14
HAVING won the first leg Horrabridge were hoping to make it a second win against the Plymstock ladies.
Some great passing up the court from Hannah Nevin, Sonia Burgess and Sian Demery into the D allowed Molly Scott to convert against a strong Plymstock defence with great support from Rebecca Callard. Some errors in the centre third passing enabled Plymstock to intercept and capitalise as the visitors led 4-2 at the end of the first quarter.
Horrabridge upped the ante in the second and a few changes were made in defence with Molly Scott GS to GK, Rosanna Morel GK to GS and Anne McVeigh on at GD.
Superb defending from Scott and McVeigh prevented Plymstock from romping away and accurate passing from the rest of the team allowed Horrabridge to pull back to 4-5.
The third quarter saw Thea Crosby come on as WA replacing Sonia Burgess. Horrabridge continued piling on the pressure which forced Plymstock to make errors and allowed Rebecca Callard and Rosanna Morel to pull together and convert successfully for 8-7 in Horrabridge’s favour.
The last quarter however challenged Horrabridge with end to end passing and some great conversions from both sides by Plymstock, who just edged it.
It was a tireless effort and great game play from Horrabridge but they just lost out 12-14.
