THE title race has been blown wide open after Hire lost to third placed Falcons.

After a scrappy start Falcons took the lead when Hire's defence failed to clear a long ball and goalkeeper Shaun Moloney was lobbed from 28 yards out.

Hire came back but could not get an equaliser against a strong Falcons defence and just before half time their striker picked the ball up from 30 yards and smashed the ball into the top corner to make it 2-0.

Tavistock Hire dominated the start of the second half and John Francis headed a corner by Marc Wallace towards the top corner only for falcons keeper to tip it over.

Falcons broke and again and scored from outside the box to make it 3-0.

Late goals from Hire's Chris Shutt and a penalty from Will Pike provided some consultation.
