TAVISTOCK Golf Club's lady veterans held their first ever open and, despite rain and strong winds, attracted 30 teams for the three ball better ball competition.

Veteran's captain Barbara Porter thanked all those who had helped to make the event so successful and to the players who battled round the course.

'Tavistock Golf Club has a very thriving and competitive Lady Vets section, said Barbara. 'and the success of this first open ensures that future ones will attract even more clubs to take part.'
