HAWKS Tor took the opening two goals before Kate Bourn intercepted and converted. Jodie Brent teaming up for the first time with Sian Demery in defence put pressure on the Hawks’ shooters and did force a couple of errors but Rentafford were unable to score off them. Hawks led 9-2.
In the second quarter Rentafford regrouped and came out fighting, Demery forced a held ball which Gemma Cole fed to Bourn who scored. Cole and Helen Veness were now bringing the ball down court and were linking well with Karen Channon. Rentafford won the quarter but Hawks still led 15-9. Rentafford girls were now fighting hard and chasing every ball down, Fiona Arundel made a great interception which Bourn converted. Balls were now being picked up and Channon and Bourn had found their shooting range. Brent and Demery put a lot of pressure on Hawks’ attack. Hawks still led by 20-17
In the final quarter Hawks came out fighting and despite a great intercept from Brent, Rentafford could not stay with them.

Plymouth University 27
KATE Bourn scored the opening goal for Rentafford after a footwork error from University. Plymouth Uni came straight back before Naomi Kent intercepted which Sarah Streeter converted from distance. First quarter 4-3 to Uni. Rentafford‘s Helen Veness and Gemma Cole put good feeds into the circle but the University held out to make it 8-4 to Uni in the second. Uni upped the pressure through the centre court forcing errors from Rentafford.
Jodie Brent and Toni Dustan worked hard in defence intercepting but at the end of the third it was 20-11 to Uni. In the final quarter Kent went to centre and Karen Channon came on at WD as Rentafford lost the quarter by just one goal.
Plymouth Netball League division three
Horrabridge 37
Plymouth Huggins 29
HORRABRIDGE got off to a slow start as Huggins took control immediately of the first quarter who won it 5-14. However, Horrabridge took full advantage of the second with a few changes, to make play more heavy.
In the third there were moments of brilliance and great teamwork from Horrabridge’s Nevin, Shadrick, Burgess, Crosby, Demery, Scott, Abbott and Callard as the pace increased.
Horrabridge hit the ground running in the last quarter. Accurate passing into the D allowed Abbott and Callard to convert, great defending from Demery and Morel denied Huggins a run away victory.
Plymouth Netball division five
TT3 19
Plymouth Marjons 37
MARJONS took a two goal lead before Tamar Hick scored for TT3. Sarah Daymond forced an error before Lorraine Hucker scored. Tracey Coupland intercepted and linked with Charlotte Hill before Hucker scored again. 9-7 Marjons.
TT3 made changes and Sky Greta-May and Jade Coupland were making tips in the defence circle but the two Marjon shooters were too tall. 21-9. The experienced youngsters of Marjons carried on scoring TT3 were still making good progress against the newly formed Back to Netball girls. Hannah Cole worked well with good passing to Hill. 31- 13
Robyn Hammond teamed up well with the defence bringing the ball down to the attacking duo of Hick and Siobhan Rescorla. it was a good final quarter for TT3.
