HATHERLEIGH Cricket Club has retained the Active Villages Indoor Cricket League after another unbeaten campaign, fending off tough competition from Bridestowe, Lewdown, Belstone, Okehampton and Sticklepath.

The competition, organised by OCRA in association with the Active Villages project, invites local teams to compete in this fast-paced, six-a-side tournament.

OCRA activity development officer, Stuart Lord praised the teams involved.

He said: 'This is a fantastic competition, perfect for the players to get their eye-in before the long cricket season ahead of them. The teams are always in high-spirits, which creates a brilliant atmosphere and ensures this competition is a success.

'I would like to thank all the players for their participation in the league this year and must also thank Clive Marais for his help, organising and running the league each week.'
