FOR the second week running in the Tavistock Snooker League Conservative C found themselves on the receiving end of another 5-0 drubbing, this time at the hand of Conservative A.
Harold Whiley took one in the eye for Con C as he lost to Longden by a 10-66 score line of historic proportions, but unlike his forefathers there was no real battle. This set the tone for the night as Con A fairly ran away with the match. Jago for the Con C was the only player to stand up to Con A, giving Babb some early resistance before eventually falling away to Babb's superior safety play and potting.
Wilkinson was no match for the Con A's Evans who waltzed through the frame restricting Wilkinson to single figures.
A fast improving Lacey for Con A team put in another 'good shift' to control Neale with his superior 'work rate', to make it for Con A.
Cath Friend, despite being her team's second highest scorer, could not hold Con A's rampant Carruthers who went on to amass a formidable 110 points in their frame. This win elevated the Conservative A to second in the league.
It was business as usual for West Devon A for the first two frames against West Devon D with Hooper putting up little resistance to Emptage, and Kevin Rich encountering little to worry about from May.
Then the story changed. WD D's Shoulders stopped the one way traffic inflicting a heavy defeat on in form Taylor. This was backed up with Shrimpton (junior) out foxing Morris as he pulled his team level with a good win. Down to the decider it was left to Heathman to steady the WD A ship as he powered past Decieco to take the frame and match to make it 3-2 to West Devon A.
