A SUCCESS in every aspect for Tavistock College was the primary schools' handball tournament — the first time the college has hosted the sport in such an event.

Following the 2012 Olympics legacy the sport will now be playing a big part in the Tavistock College curriculum.  

As a result of this the Year 12 BTEC Sport, Year 12 public services and the Year 9 real world learning pathway were given the challenge to plan and deliver the handball session.  

Rhona Doyle, on behalf of the college, said: 'Everybody rose to the challenge displaying excellent leadership, coaching and organisational skills from the Tavistock College pupils and as a result of their excellent work the event ran very smoothly.  

'The primary schools were a delight to work with putting in exceptional effort as they embraced the new game of handball.  We look forward to this becoming an annual event.'
