CONGRATULATIONS go to Okehampton Flyers head coach Vicki Pritchard for being selected for British Gymnastics' level 5 High Performance (HPC) trampoline qualification last year, and for completing the theory and practical courses.

The HPC qualification is the highest-level skill-based qualification available in trampolining. It qualifies coaches to teach all of the highest level skills that exist in trampolining, such as multiple twisting triple somersaults, as seen in the senior men's Olympics.

Only a few coaches are selected to take the qualification each year. This is very exciting for the future of Okehampton Flyers and its gymnasts.

Vicki was formerly a Grade A national trampolinist, training at and competing for Littledown Trampoline Club and Ringwood & Bournemouth Trampoline Club. Both clubs developed beginners to FIG world medallists in trampoline, with Ringwood & Bournemouth developing a beginner to FIG world medallist in DMT. She later trained as a coach with Ringwood & Bournemouth, and moved to Devon, coaching for OCRA and developing Okehampton Flyers.

Her British Gymnastics coaching qualifications include trampolining and double mini trampoline (DMT), general gymnastics including tumbling, Free-G (parkour), pre-school and disability gymnastics, as well as cheerleading (BGU), fencing (British Fencing) and archery (Archery GB).

She has been both a South West coach, and an England DMT coach at a training camp in Portugal. She is mentored by Paul Greaves, former coach to Olympic trampoline medallist Bryony Page, and Brian Camp, current coach to Bryony Page and Olympian Izzy Songhurst.

Okehampton Flyers is a British Gymnastics affiliated club and has spaces available for 3–16-year-olds at gymnastics, trampolining and double mini trampoline (DMT). Anyone wishing to book a place for September or trial for its club squads can contact [email protected].
