Yelverton seconds v Clyst Hyden

A LOT of work by the ground staff to mop up the pitch and outfield enabled Yelverton seconds to start on time and the team were asked to bat by Clyst Hyden.

On a damp seaming wicket runs were not easy to come by however with a lot of patience and not without a bit of luck, Gavin Jones (43) and Chris Cottrell (29) put on a opening partnership of 70.

Gerry Keen and Mark Symes kept the runs flowing for the Bohemians, both scoring 35. Then followed a batting collapse as Yelverton seconds were all out for 183.

Clyst Hyden, in response, were never in the run chase due to miserly bowling from Tony Carter (nine overs for seven runs) and Terry Roe (three wickets).

Spinner Matt Tamsett turned the ball square to pick up two wickets while

Dan Cooper and Sam Betts both bowled their medium pace with success, picking up two wickets a piece as Clyst Hyden ended up 107 all out.
