LAMERTON started in a confident mood and went two goals up early in the first half with efforts from Richard Searle and Blair Vanstone. 

A defensive mix up in Lamerton's defence gave Pelynt the opportunity to get back into the game with Anthony Harman scoring for the hosts.  Pelynt drew level when Billy Tedder-Hart beat Lamerton keeper Pete Daniel with a lobbed effort from outside the box. Lamerton scored a third just before half time; James Steer's effort from the edge of the box nestled into the net to restore the visitors' lead going into the break.

The second half saw Pelynt pushing for a equaliser but with the weather deteriorating as the half progressed both sides struggled in the conditions.

Lamerton hit the killer blow midway through the second half when Simon Kelly scored their fourth with breakaway goal and finish off an impressive performance from the visitors.
