A DEPLETED Bere Alston without six regulars played well in the first half. Against the run of play an error by James Elliot let Wadebridge beat off the offside and the ball was squared back to be slotted home.

Bere rallied and Will Westlake hit a 25 yard free kick home for the equaliser. Bere let Wadebridge off the hook by not taking their chances.

The second half was equal as both defences were on top but the odd chances they had were wasted — Dale Simpson mis hitting from six yards with the goal gaping. Into the fourth minute of time added on, an up and under beat Bere's keeper between the upright and cross bar.

Still Bere had a chance to equalise with players waiting for a pass, and James Elliot, 10 yards out, went for glory but put the ball out of the ground.
