THERE was some excellent scoring in the ladies closed meeting at Tavistock Golf Club. 

The Mollie Muirhead salvers, awarded to the best scratch scores in the silver and bronze divisions, were won respectively by Dawn Phillott with a gross 83 and Ginny Samborne with gross 93. 

Winner of the Chris Leach trophy for the best nett score was Joy Tynan with nett 68.  First in the silver division was Fran Horton with nett 72 on countback from Maggie Hillman, third was Sally Hills with nett 73 on countback from Dawn Phillott. 

Topping the bronze division was Joy Tynan with nett 68, second Ginny Samborne nett 69, third Margaret Burn nett 70 on countback from Janet Walls. 

The Basil Steer trophy was won by S Treglown from Yelverton with nett 75, runner up was Alaistair Johnston (Taunton and Pickeridge) with nett 76 on countback from Tavistock's Paul Crump and Rob Jarman. In the men veterans the Ken Kendall trophy winner was David Carter with a nett 69, runner up with a nett 70 was John Harding on countback from Mike Coles.

In the juniors Emma Greening won the Simon Gilder Cup with 40 pts on countback from Will Stenhouse, third was Kieran Alder with 34 pts.  In division two (29-54 handicap)  first was Callum Boon 45 pts, second Thomas White 34 pts on countback from James Ninnis.

Winner of the W G Westlake medal with a nett 69 Will Stenhouse, second Mike Henderson  nett 75.  In division two Luis Inacio had nett 68, second Callum Boon nett 72. 

In the W G Westlake Stableford competition Arun Caines had 37 pts on countback from Will Stenhouse and in division two Jamie Ninnis had 40 pts, second Luis Inacio 30 pts.

Winner of the H L Smith trophy was Mike |Henderson with nett 71 on countback from Kieran Alder.
