TAVISTOCK Golf Club Juniors continued their successful season by winning the West Devon Junior League final.  In a hard fought match they beat a strong Yelverton side 4-1.  They will now go on to represent West Devon to play for the Henry Trustcott Cup against the winners of North, South and East Devon leagues.   

The following day they played in the Starsleigh Cup at Thurlestone and came second out of eight teams.  It has been a great year for the juniors.

In the Daily Mail Foursomes Peggy Burge and Elaine Cooper will represent Tavistock in the next round after beating Shirley Trevena and Pat Wylie on count back with 35 points. 

The Caddies’ Trophy, played for by ladies who caddied for Tavistock players in county matches, was played in conjunction with the monthly Stableford.  Fran Horton in division one had 38 pts and second was Kayleigh Cann 37 pts on countback from Hilary Picton. 

Sarah Woock topped division two with 37pts on countback from June Kendall; third was Hazel Cash with 33pts.  With the excellent score of 39pts Sue Eastwood was first in division three; second was Anne Dawson on 35pts on countback from Sue Bailey.  Winner of the Caddies Trophy was Kayleigh Cann with 37pts on count back from June Kendall.

Forty eight pairs competed in the Foster Ferris Trophy competition which was won by George and Nicky Gawman with 43pts on countback from Adam Bridgewater and Nigel Roberts.  Third was Sam Hurdwell and Dawn Phillott with 42pts.
