A RAIN affected day at Hurdwick did not deter members, family and friends from playing in the John Hewitt memorial event.

Everyone gathered after the golf for a barbecue and presentation. Despite the weather, some good scores were achieved with three players tied on 40 points, meaning a count back was required.

Steve Martyn was named the overall winner.

Harry Bee the event organiser gave special thanks to Fred and Adam at Classic Builders; Martin and Jane at Hurdwick; the whole Hewitt family and Paul Bennetton for their support on the day and thanked everyone who attended and made this a superb day.

£620 was raised for the British Heart Foundation.
