YELVERTON  Golf Club veterans held their weekly three ball Stableford competition on October 11.

First place with 81 points were Christian Prosper, John Greenwood and Tim Douglas-Riley; second on 80pts were Mike Martin, John Goad and Ray J Bennett while third, 77pts, Des Palmer, S Sud and Neil Sellick.

After the golf, Yelverton club captain, Richard Price, presented a cheque for £1,760 to the HeartSWell Charity. This money was raised at a recent charity golf event at the club. The donation was received by the Heartswell chairman, Clem Spencer. His charity provided Yelverton Golf Club with two defibrillators over three years ago and in return for this, the club organises an annual charity event HeartSWell.

Roger Bowden, who had won a raffle prize of £500 for his selected charity at a recent Tavistock Golf Club charity event, presented this money to HeartSWell.
