A VERY popular competition at Tavistock Golf Club is the Pro Shop Roll up organised by club professional Russell Binney. 

Sixty players competed in the latest roll up which was won by Clive Coates with 41 points on countback from Kevin Parris; in third place with 40pts was Mark Taylor. Top lady was Marian Stenhouse with 37pts.

The annual match between Tavistock and Yelverton for the Patrick Stewart Trophy was held this year at Tavistock.  The home side took the honours with a 7-3 win.

The lady veterans played the qualifying round for the Devon County Volunteer LGA Killeard Leavey. Carolyn Crawford and Sally Hills were winners this year with 39pts and runners up with 32pts Sally Timpson and Elaine Cooper. Carolyn and Sally will represent the club in the final at Honiton in September.

The Marilyn Allen Trophy for past lady captains was played in conjunction with the monthly Stableford. Hot sunshine and a strong wind made playing conditions difficult especially on the front nine. In division one Kerry Baker with 35pts  was first on count back from Hilary Picton and Dawn Phillott.  Pat Tayor was first in division one with 35pts; second Janet Kiely 34 pts on count back from Marian Stenhouse.  The fourth division winner was Peggy Burge with 36pts, second Nikki Ormond 35 and third Norma Thewlis on 33pts.

Past captain Janet Kiely pipped past captain  Marian Stenhouse on countback to win this year’s trophy.
