THE April Captain’s Day qualifier at Hurdwick Golf Club last week was, once again, well attended.

After the horrendous weather all courses have suffered in the previous few months the course was in comparatively fine condition, especially the fairways.

Scoring was reflected by the high winds and therefore the top three scores of 35 by Steve Laroche, 34 from J Hassan and 31 by Harry Bee had been down to superb battling performances.

Hurdwick golfers will be playing for the club’s Schofield Trophy on Saturday.
