YELVERTON Golf Club held their Gala Day on Saturday. 150 members enjoyed beautiful weather and scoring conditions.

The overall winner was Roger Joesbury, who won the Jubilee Trophy with 45pts.

Division one: M Harrington 43pts, D Garry 43pts, A Lowe and K Bowen 40pts; division two, M F Jones 40pts, S West 38pts, B Smithson and M C Cooper 38pts, division three, R Joesbury 45pts, V Guerreo 44pts, D Parr 42pts; division four, A Westacott 42pts, J Hargreaves 41pts and M Scant 40pts. Best lady, C Theyer 40pts; best junior, D Allen 35pts; longest drive on fifth, O Bangura; nearest the pin on sixth, J Soutar, on the 12th P Lander; nearest the line 11th, J Renwick

County Inter-Club Matchplay results: Congratulations to both the club’s Parker Trophy (Scratch) and Palariet (Handicap) teams in winning their recent matches in the county inter-club matches..

The Parker team beat Elfordleigh 2.5-0.5 at Staddon Heights and the Palariet team defeated Great Torrington 3.5-1.5 at Okehampton.

In the next rounds the Parker team play Boringdon at Tavistock by end of June and in the Palariet, Yelverton play East Devon at Stover on July 3.

YELVERTON  Golf Club veterans held their monthly individual Stableford competition on June 1.

First place with 39 points was John Pritchard. In second place, on 37pts was Paul Harvey while in third place equal with 36pts were   Richard Gard and Jack Bovingdon.
