CHILDREN'S charity CHICKS will be holding their annual golf day at Trethorne Golf Club, Launceston on Friday, June 21 and are appealing for enthusiastic golfers to join the event.

CHICKS fundraiser Mick Ryan said: 'Since we began in 1992 we are proud to have provided over 10,000 disadvantaged children with free respite breaks. This year, funding permitting, we aim to provide another 1,200 disadvantaged children with this wonderful opportunity. Although the respite breaks are provided to the children completely for free, each child place costs us on average £735 and events like our annual golf day help us raise the vital funds we need to continue our work.'

There is a £10,000 prize for a hole in one on the eighth hole.
