THE new lady captain for 2013 at Yelverton Golf Club is Glenda Thompson.

Glenda and husband Andy live in Ivybridge. They joined Yelverton in 2006 Prior to taking up golf in 2004, they spent many years  growing and showing gladioli at a national level.

Glenda's chosen charity for her year, is the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

As an occupational therapist, Glenda  worked for a number of years with people and families affected by MS.  

This year is the 60th anniversary of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

A cake break day  in May and a coffee morning in the autumn, are two of the events Glenda and the ladies at Yelverton will be organising.

There will also be an auction in the summer, for the charity, of a superb golfing prize, which has been kindly donated by Wentworth Golf Club.

There are some new names on the ladies' committee this year: Dianne Reardon, vice captain; Caroline Theyer, secretary; Elizabeth Calder, treasurer; Ray Bovingdon; competition secretary; Sue Rumbold committee member.
