AT the Devon Games to Inspire the West Devon girls badminton squad came away winning the silver medals in the team competition. In the round-robin stages they faced three other areas from Devon and came away triumphant each time by winning each match 2-1 to lead their group. In the final the girls came up against the Exeter and East Devon squad and, in a tense match, lost narrowly 2-1.

In the boys team competition West Devon came up against the eventual overall winners in their group and found it difficult to match their speed and pace around the court. In the end the boys squad finished a creditable eighth overall but determined to improve next time around.
