Following the earlier free taster sessions at the Coronation Hall, the Active Villages Project has arranged for the marking of the floor and poles and nets to be donated to the hall to allow badminton to take place once more.
There will be two further free taster sessions on the May 6 and May 20 so come and join coach Alan Berry at 7pm and get a badminton club going.
The Project has already set up pilates classes with Sally Cinnamond on Thursdays at 9.30am and 10.40am at the Coronation Hall to which more members are welcome. The cost is £5 and more information can be provided from Sally on 07969 157507.
A Short Mat Bowls Club has also been established in the hall, which will be restarting in September.
Last week Mary Tavy Youth Club received a Sports Kit bag from Active Villages to allow them to play more sport, including badminton and tennis.
The Primary School has received tri-golf lessons and is due to receive tennis and multi-skills after school clubs in the summer term.
Is there another sports activity you would like to see in Mary Tavy, Brentor or Peter Tavy? Would you like to make more use of the tennis courts in the village? We can organise a tennis coach for some adult/teenage taster sessions.
The Active Villages Project is there to help establish physical activities in Rural Communities. Could your village benefit from the Project?
