Friendly Tavistock v Palmers TAVISTOCK entertained Palmers in a mid-week friendly on a beautiful and warm August afternoon. Tavistock batted first and against some tight opening bowling Freddie Jayarajah played some beautiful shots to get the scoreboard ticking. He made a fluent 42 before departing, leaving Matt Anderson, Richard Edelmann and Toks Peter to put up a competitive total of 166-6 before acting captain Aaron Churchill declared. In reply Palmers appeared to be cruising along at 113-1. Burnhill and Blake seemed set to take them home easily, especially as two of the Tavistock players had to leave at 6pm due to work commitments. Richard Edelmann and Kerswill then turned the game upside down by provoking a major collapse with Palmers folding to 144 all out. Edelmann 2-12 and Kerswill 3-23 were the heroes, giving Tavistock an unlikely victory.
