Plymouth Netball premier B

Rentafford 24

Parkhurst 20

RENTAFFORD started off with many errors. Despite Jodie Brent and Toni Dustan making many tips and intercepts the attack were not able to convert.

Parkhurst went 7-3 up before Naomi Kent made a great intercept fed to Kate Bourn in the circle to score but it was still 9-5 to the visitors at the end of the first quarter.

Kent came off with an injuryed shoulder and Karen Channon came on at WD for Ford. Ford broke through the Parkhurst centre and a good feed from Helen Veness to Sarah Streeter, saw her find the net. Channon, Gemma Cole and Helen Veness were working well in the centre court bringing the ball down court while Bourn and Streeter were finding the net. Defence duo Dustan and Brent had an excellent quarter preventing the movement of Parkhurst attack to make it 14-12 to Ford.

Both Veness and Cole made intercepts at the start of the third. Bourn worked tirdlesly intercepting, bringing the ball back down court with Brent to make it 20-15 to Ford

Parkhurst made a few changes, which did mix up Ford’s play. Channon made an excellent tip. Parkhurst broke two of Fords’ centre passes. Dustin and Bourn both made intercepts to keep Ford in the game and while they lost the quarter by two held on to win.
