THE Tavistock Specials had their best start to the season scoring 10 goals and conceding one in the Devon Ability Football League.

Ryan Walker is the team goalkeeper having moved up from the youth side. The side now has 10 players which is great for the club as they play five-a-side in this league. So with spirits high the league two Tavi Specials will put in a big challenger for their league this season. Their fixture is on Sunday, September 16 at Devon FA headquarters at Coach Road, Newton Abbot.

Allen Lewis, on behalf of the Tavistock Specials, said: ‘With a growing side of 12 signed on from Tavistock, North and South Devon, the ladies’ team are in high spirits coached by Will Reed and led by captain Tracey Harvey Upham. Ability Counts ladies’ football has really improved and they have six to eight teams in their league now. The friendships and laughter are what this league is about and we wish them well for the new season.’
