TAVISTOCK AFC 2nd XI backed up their victory over Paignton Saints 2nd XI with a hard-earned point away at East Allington United 2nd XI on Saturday, September 19, reports Alastair Muirden.

The Lambs are now on four points from three games in the SDFL’s Division Two, with a record of 1-1-1.

Marcel Grzybowski scored both goals for Tavistock at Poole Lane as they drew 2-2 in the South Hams.

Elsewhere in their division, Galmpton Utd continued their 100% start to the season with a comprehensive 5–1 win, Cole Feasby and Dan Tresize got two goals each and there was a single for Max Prestwood.

Kingskerswell make up the top three with a 5–2 win over Paignton Villa 2nds at the Kerswell Bowl- Oli Critchlow kept the match ball having scored four goals.

Liverton United played and won their first game of the campaign, beating Newton Spurs 3rds by three goals to nil.

The aforementioned Saints got their season up and running with their first points, a 6–3 win over a visiting Ivybridge Town side is a good result in anybody’s book.

In the top-flight, leaders Lakeside Athletic were taken to the wire by Newton Abbot Spurs 2nds but a 3–2 victory keeps them on maximum points from the opening three games.

Right behind them are Ilsington Villa thanks to a 2-nil win over Pymouth True Blues, Dan Langford and Jamie Soper finding the back of the net.

Paignton Saints moved into third spot with an eyebrow raising 3–1 win at Newton Abbot 66.

Kingsteignton Athletic got a first win of the campaign with Mark Voisey coming out of retirement to score both of their goals against Elburton Villa 2nds.

Bovey Tracey 2nd XI further compounded the misery of Beesands Rovers with a 3-2 victory in Division One.

Buckland Athletic 2nd XI were victorious once more, cruising to a 6-2 success over Babbacombe Corries.

Paignton Villa and Watcombe Wanderers have the same record as Bovey, Villa beating Watcombe 3-2 on the road and edging ahead of them in the standings as a result.

The leaders though are Mount Gould who won by a familiar scoreline, 3-2, to continue their 100% start.

Ipplepen Athletic 2nds remain atop the Division Three standings after beating Liverton 2nds 4-1 and Kingsteignton 2nds were 2-1 victors over Buckfastleigh Rangers.

Newton Rovers moved up five places with a close 3-2 win at Stoke Gabriel TP who were also playing their first game under new management.

Pre-season favourites Horrabridge Rangers clicked into gear with a 3–1 victory oner Chudleigh Athletic 2nds to record their first three points in the SDFL.

Division Four is going to be a tight competition as after only two games, only two teams have no points.

Buckland Athletic 3rds are one of four teams on six points and they lead on goal difference, beating Waldon Athletic 4-2 in their latest outing.

Lakeside Athletic 2nds are next thanks to a 10-1 win at Paignton Villa 3rds keeps them in second spot with Barton Athletic 2nds and Ilsington Villa 2nds behind them, the latter beating Brixham Town 2nds 3-1.

In Division Five, Tamerton Foliot lead the way with three wins from three, beating Newton Rovers 2nds 9-nil at Bakers Park whilst Paignton Saints 3rds won 2-0 against Newton Albion and WBB played out a rare goalless draw with Waldon Athletic 2nds.
